David Huang is a native of Lexington, Kentucky where his parents were both professors of the University of Kentucky. He graduated from NYU in 2022 and currently works as a Commercial Director for a film production company in New York City where he resides.
When he was 6 years old he started collecting state quarters to fill a state quarter album provided to him by his parents, eventually leading to him collecting early American copper cents as well as his role as the consistently youngest person at the Early American Copper Society (Member 6278J) convention.
As a child, his Dad’s favorite place to take the family on vacation was Key West. He spent many summers staring longingly at the artifacts and coins (mostly Atocha-pedigreed in the Mel Fisher Museum). It was only after a trip to the Florida United Numismatists (FUN) Show that he discovered he could actually collect Mel Fisher pedigreed coins!
Now, David is an avid and dedicated collector of both Atocha and 1715 Fleet coins, though he still has much to learn about the field.
