Diving in Search of the Real Pirates of the Caribbean

Wreckwatch is about to become the first team allowed to search for pirate shipwrecks off Nassau, New Providence, in the Bahamas, the home base of Henry Avery, Blackbeard, Anne Bonny, Charles Vane, and gang. And our cameras are rolling. Watch the Official Crowdfunding Trailer HERE.

“That the pyrates before the Governor’s [Woodes Rogers’] arrival had brought into the harbour about 40 sail of merchant ships, where they were either burnt or sunk … & left them to the mercy of the seas”
~ Samuel Buck, December 3, 1719

We’re also producing the first historically accurate 3D digital reconstruction of the pirate town of Nassau at the height of the golden age of piracy, and using A1 to bring the sea dogs back to life, to roam once more the mean streets of the world’s most infamous pirate republic. Dead men do tell tales.

We’re sharing the adventures in a Wreckwatch TV documentary film with everyone, totally free. To do so, we need your support. Please consider backing our crowdfunding campaign or contact Sean Kingsley for sponsorship opportunities, and if you have other creative ideas, editor@wreckwatchmag.com. Tell all your diving, history, archaeology, and exploration friends. Together, let’s make history.
