Fabergé Pendant Recovered From Man Who Ate It

An accused thief held in custody since swallowing a valuable Fabergé pendant has, after six days, returned the miniature treasure. His bowels yielded the James Bond-themed “Octopussy” egg, inlaid with diamonds and opening to reveal a gold octopus; the New Zealand man still faces charges.

Anonymous as the 32-year-old suspect is in reports, he was held in custody under “close observation” while the pendant, valued at $19k, worked its way through his bowels. New Zealand police posted a photo depicting a gloved hand holding the intact (and mercifully cleaned) pendant on Friday morning.
