Coin Description: Lima 1702 Eight Reales. 26.7 grams. The obverse displays a very clear date. The features are reasonably well centered. There is some minor corrosion on the obverse. Some of the features are obscured because this piece has not been fully cleaned. It is apparent however that a second date is visible on the left edge of the obverse. The reverse cross is well centered but partially broken. There is also doubling of the castle in the right lower quadrant. The lion in the left lower quadrant and the castle in the left upper quadrant appear intact and area reasonably clear. Another date can be seen at the bottom of the planchet (2). The reverse has also not been fully cleaned. The lack of cleaning gives this coin an overall dark appearance.
