Coin Description: Partial date (17)11 Mexico Eight Reales. 26.1 grams. Very odd shape which demonstrates the unusual nature of cob reales. Note that only the “11” of the date is barely visible on the “neck” of this “wristwatch” shaped piece. Only the “O” of the “OMJ” is visible. 50% of the shield is visible but indistinct. Note denomination “8” is visible. A crack can also be seen on the obverse located at the “6 o’clock” position. This crack is picked up again on the reverse at the “3 o’clock” position. Cross is approximately 75% complete but lions and castles are indistinct due to poor striking. Some surface deposits located on both sides of the coin.
