Coin Description: Partial date (17)14 Mexico Eight Reales. 26.5 grams. The “OMJ” is not visible due to obliteration by hammer marks. Obverse shield only 20% complete due to hammer marks. What is visible on the obverse however is deeply struck. Reverse cross about 65% complete with only one full castle and part of a lion showing. Hammer marks are also apparent on the reverse. This specimen represents an example of what has become to be known as a “wristwatch” shaped cob.
