Wrechwatch TV: Shackleton’s Endurance in 3D

In the remotest, iciest place on Earth, the Weddell Sea in Antarctica, the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust found Sir Ernest Shackleton’s ship the Endurance 3,000 meters down. They modelled the wreck using a futuristic 3D laser scan.

It’s the most accurate map of a deep-sea wreck ever made. But what’s a 3D laser scan? And how did they do it?
