Upon my recent return from a trip to Florida, I was pleased to find in my mailbox a book sent to me by Allen Balogh (Society member #37) titled A Perilous Journey from Cuba, which is a compilation of previous research by eminent Fleet scholars such as John DeBry, Jorge Proctor, Gene Lyon, and others. It not only discusses the destruction of the 1715 Fleet, but also many ancillary issues associated with the loss and its recovery.
This is just the latest in a long list of books authored by Allen, which can be found here. His current offering has already received several positive reviews including one from Fleet Society Advisory Board Member, John de Bry, who said:
