A diver’s casual swim turned into an extraordinary discovery when a glint beneath the sea caught his eye. What started as a lone ancient coin led to uncovering a collection of more than 30,000 bronze and copper coins off the coast of Sardinia. This amazing find could be a gateway to revealing a long-lost Roman shipwreck.
The treasure trove, buried in the waters near Arzachena, Italy, dates back nearly 1,700 years to between 324 and 340 AD. Experts say this may be one of the most significant numismatic discoveries in recent decades, shedding new light on ancient trade and maritime history.
