From the Fleet Society Archives — Mid-1960s

This leaflet was from the Gallery of Spanish Treasure, which was operated by the Real Eight Company from 1965 to 1968. It was located alongside the First National Bank of Satellite Beach and was in operation until the museum moved to a larger facility, located in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

These museums were popular tourist attractions. They had a gift shop which sold various Fleet-related items, as well as novelties. Some of these novelties included bracelets and earrings made from reproductions of gold coins found by the Real Eight Company. All of these novelty items are highly collectible, and when they occasionally show up in auctions, they sell for a considerable price.
