A 7-year-old boy who found human teeth while exploring a popular coastal area in the U.K. may have actually uncovered the remains of people who died in a historic shipwreck dating back to the 1700s.

Arthur was exploring Lizard Point in Cornwall in August 2025 when he came across a collection of teeth in the ground, according to a news release from the British conservation charity The National Trust.

The boy showed them to one of the organization’s volunteers, Ken Wallace, a retired dentist, and he believed they were human. Police later confirmed the teeth were archaeological, further adding to the mystery.
