As many of you already know, the ANA (American Numismatic Association) publishes a monthly magazine for its members called The Numismatist. Each month the magazine features a cover story. Some time ago The 1715 Fleet Society contacted the ANA and requested that they consider featuring the 300th Anniversary of the 1715 Fleet disaster as its cover story for the January 2015 edition of The Numismatist. We are very pleased to announce that, subject to certain conditions, it appears that this will indeed occur. We are, of course, thrilled that the ANA has agreed to feature this historic Anniversary on the cover of its prestigious monthly publication. This publishing will coincide with the January 2015 United Numismatists (FUN) Show in Orlando, Florida. A central theme of the FUN Show will be the 300th Anniversary of the loss of the 1715 Fleet as well as celebrating the 60th Anniversary of FUN. (FUN was founded in 1955)
All in all, the January 2015 FUN Show promises to be quite an event. This might be a good opportunity to consider becoming a member of the ANA (American Numismatic Association) and FUN (Florida United Numismatists). Visit the ANA website and the FUN website for more information.
