The new Welcome Center at Port Canaveral will be featuring a painting that was previously commissioned by the 1715 Fleet Society.

The painting called “The Day After” by artist Ralph Curnow features the wreckage and destruction which followed the devastation of the 1715 Fleet as a result of a hurricane on July 31st, 1715. The 1715 Fleet Society has consented to allow this image to be reproduced and used in the exhibit for the new Welcome Center. The exhibit includes history of the Port and European exploration of the area. The new Welcome Center is scheduled to open in September, 2013.
