Special Announcement! Today is a very special day. We have exactly 1000 days left until the 300th Anniversary of the 1715 Fleet Disaster which will occur on July 31, 2015.
The 1715 Fleet Society began its efforts to commemorate the 300th Anniversary in 2008. It started with a small group of dedicated volunteers determined to ensure that this historic event receives the proper recognition it deserves. Much work has been done and many individuals have helped us to continue carrying out our mission. Our efforts culminated in the launching of a website on May 1, 2011. Since then we have received many e-mails and offers of assistance from the four corners of the globe.
Our task is far from complete. But in this last 1000 days we will be finalizing our plans and coordinating our contacts to make this event truly special.
