This beautiful heart-shaped Mexico eight reales was given to the current owner many years ago by Kip WagnerKip Wagner (1906 – 1972) was instrumental in the formation of the team that later became the Real Eight Company and one of the greatest salvage groups that ever explored the 1715 Fleet wrecks. He .... (Wagner, of course, was the central figure responsible for the 1715 Fleet salvaging efforts conducted in the 1960s and beyond.) This exquisite item is considered very rare and very desirable.
The obverse (pictured at top) displays a substantial shield and the denomination “8” for eight reales.
The cross on the reverse is complete, along with clear and distinct lions and castles. Hanging from a silver chain, this item makes a substantial impression.
