Here is a picture of Fleet Society Vice President Phil Flemming and his friend Rocky busy at work on Fleet Society business. Phil was one of the original co-founders of the Society in 2008. He, Ernie Richards, and I created the Society for the sole purpose of planning a 300th anniversary commemoration in 2015. The whole project took eight years of planning and $30,000.00 to complete. It was a great success, so much so that the Society continued with a new mission statement aimed at researching all aspects of the loss, rediscovery, and recovery of the 1715 Fleet and its treasures. So, seventeen years and 227 members later we are still going strong. My hats off to Phil for his work and support. Oh, and by the way, Phil is the one with the hat on.
