Vince Carrola is a pirate historian whose fascination with the Golden Age of Piracy began in college after reading The Invisible Hook by Peter Leeson. Since then, he has pursued an in-depth study of pirates as economic, social, and maritime actors, following their stories from archival records to historic coinage and the wrecks of the 1715 Spanish Treasure Fleet. A CPA and professional auditor by training, Vince combines analytical rigor with a spirit of adventure in exploring the material and financial world of early modern seafarers.
