After many months of hard work, we have now launched our new website. We hope you enjoy it. Please let us know what you think.
We’ve redesigned the home page, newsletter archives, search features, and the way coins are displayed. We’ve also added software to increase our visibility online and to show up more prominently in search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others. You’ll also notice social sharing icons on newsletter and non-fleet news posts allowing members to share our posts on their favorite social networks.
Right now, we are beta testing additional features that will take the Fleet Society website to the next level. We call this the Fleet Forums, which will turn the website into a pseudo social network for Fleet Enthusiasts around the world.
This is the single biggest update we’ve published since the site was first launched online more than a decade ago, with exciting features our members will love, including:
- Member Profiles – members will have the ability to create custom profiles and post additional information about themselves, follow updates from one another, and connect with each directly and securely through our site.
- Forums – Discussion areas on curated topics and categories related to the Fleet. The public can view the forums and the topics for discussion but only Fleet members can create new posts, respond to other members, and carry on the conversation.
- Groups – Members can arrange themselves into groups by interest which, in turn, have their own forums for discussion amongst the group members.
- Photos, Documents, Files – members will now have the ability to upload their own images, documents, and files related to the Fleet and share them with other members privately.
The Fleet Society Board is finishing testing these new features and will roll them out to the entire Fleet Membership in the next two weeks.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact our IT director Craig via this form. In the meantime, enjoy the new website!
