Coin Description: Full and complete date 1714 Mexico Eight Reales. 25.5 grams. An exquisite coin. One of the finest known pieces. The date is exceptionally bold. The “OMJ” is full, complete and clear. Approximately 40% of the shield is clear and distinct with great detail. Part of the crown is also visible. Obverse hammer marks are also apparent. The reverse cross is well centered and almost 100% complete. All lions and castles are visible but the lion and castle on the right side of the cross are more distinct. Although somewhat of an odd shape this coin is overall one of the best for detail and clarity.
