Coin Description: Partial date (16)91 Mexico Eight Reales. 26 grams. The “691” of the date is clearly visible, however, the surface is a bit rough. The “OML” is not distinct due to much doubling. The shield likewise demonstrates a lack of clarity because of doubling. The reverse is much clearer than the obverse and shows a 75% cross and a very distinct lion and castle. The lion and castle to the left have been obliterated by hammer marks thereby preventing an almost perfectly centered and complete cross with lions and castles.
