In 2017 the Fleet Society published its first book, “Treasure of a Lost Fleet”, which was a compilation of monthly posts from our “Treasure of the Month” series which appears on the Society’s website. The “Treasure of the Month” first appeared when our website was launched in May 2011. In 2015 it was suggested that we publish these monthly vignettes and, after due consideration, we decided to do so. In 2017 we went forward and published our first book which covered 2011 through 2016. One hundred numbered copies were produced and promptly sold out.
In 2022 the Society published a second volume of our “Treasure of the Month” posts called “Treasure of a Lost Fleet II”. This book covered posts from 2017 through 2022. One hundred fifty numbered copies were produced. After the release of this book a number of purchasers requested copies of the first volume, which of course was sold out and not available. The Society’s Board of Directors discussed the feasibility of reprinting the first volume due to the high demand. It was decided to do a reprint but to change the cover of the book and include a Forward to distinguish it from the first volume.
The contract with the publisher has been signed and the deposit paid. Production will begin sometime this month with an estimated completion by March. Anyone interested in obtaining a copy should send an e-mail. A decision has not yet been made as to whether or not this reprint will be numbered or signed. More to come on that subject later.
