Rob Barfield Recovers Treasure with Capt. Levin Shavers

Treasure hunters find $1 million haul from centuries-old shipwrecks off Florida coast (9NEWS) — While that might sound like the plotline of a movie or TV show, it was a real-life discovery for Captain Levin Shavers and the crew of M/V Just Right.

Rob Barfield (Member #161), who was part of Captain Levin Shavers’ crew, personally recovered 400+ coins! In his 30 years of diving, he said, “I’ve never experienced anything like it. For Mike Perna (Member #217), it was just another day on campus!”

Over 1,000 silver eight reales coins, along with several gold coins and artifacts, were found in one location. You can read all the details in October’s Treasure of the Month.
