Since the beginning of the year, we have witnessed a surge in our membership. This can be attributed, in part, to our recent conference in Vero Beach and partnerships formed with some Society members who have a significant presence on social media.
I went through our updated list and found some interesting statistics to share with you.
Our members can now be found in 31 States, 6 Countries, 1 Commonwealth (Puerto Rico), and 1 British Overseas Territory. Not surprisingly, Florida leads with 147 total members. Of those members, 67 reside on the Treasure Coast, and the remaining 80 are scattered throughout the state (or as we call it, Greater Florida).
California is a distant second with 17, followed by Georgia with 11, Pennsylvania with 10, and New York and Texas both tied at 7. The rest of the states representing our members fall in line with fewer numbers after that. Having 31 out of 50 states is quite an achievement!
The last member to join has a membership number of 279; however, we actually have 274 members due to deaths and a resignation. We will continue the practice of leaving the numbers of deceased members in place as a sign of respect. So, the next member number will be 280.
Several years ago, the Society was broken down into regions. Florida was divided into 2 regions: Greater Florida (67 members) and the Treasure Coast (80 members). The Western Region has 35 members, the Central Region has 16, the Northeast and Great Lakes Region has 49, and the Southern Region has 27.
Or thanks go out to all of you who have helped the Society grow. With any luck, we will pick up a few more states this year. Below is a list of states where we do not have members. Perhaps YOU could help recruit new members from these states so we can add them to our list?!
- Alaska
- Arkansas
- Delaware
- Iowa
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Maine
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- Montana
- Nebraska
- Nevada
- New Hampshire
- North Dakota
- Sout Dakota

We’ll let you know if we add any new members from these states to our list.
