Recently we received an e-mail from Fleet Society member Ken Gentile of Lombard, Illinois (member # 112) who sent us a link to some very interesting vintage photos, many from the mid 50’s to the early 70’s. The photographs are from some early Florida treasure museums, specifically Art McKee’s Museum of Sunken Treasure in Plantation Key and the Real Eight Museum of Sunken Treasure in Cape Canaveral. The pictures, in black and white, have a certain nostalgic quality that imbues a sentimental longing for times past when things were simpler and less contentious. The photos are from the State Library and Archives of Florida. Here is a sampling of the images with captions. To access all, click HERE.
