As we move into the new year, we are working through our checklist of final details that need to be accomplished as we prepare for the opening of our Conference & Meeting in Vero Beach. We start with a Meet & Greet/Reception at the Vero Beach Heritage Center on January 8 (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.). This reception is FREE to all members and the public. Tuesday, we begin two days of presentations from speakers covering topics related to the 1715 Fleet and coins of the Spanish empire. Also, professional divers and explorers will be present to give firsthand accounts of their recovery efforts and some of their most famous finds. The response to our Conference has been outstanding, so much so that we are SOLD OUT. Since we are detail-oriented, we are working to identify any problems that could arise that might adversely affect our program. So, with that said, I will be getting back to work going over my checklist.
