The 1715 Fleet Society is pleased to announce that it will be hosting another conference in Vero Beach, Florida in January 2024. Following a very successful conference last November it was decided to once again choose Vero Beach as the location. The venue selected for the conference is the Costa de Este Beach Resort, located a short distance away from last year’s venue, the Holiday Inn. The Costa d’e ‘Este was chosen because its facility can accommodate up to 100 people whereas last year’s venue had limited capacity.
We are planning to have the conference on Tuesday, January 9, and Wednesday, January 10, 2024. This will be right after the FUN Show in Orlando which is scheduled to take place from Thursday, January 4 to Sunday, January 7, 2024. Having the conference following the FUN Show seems to make sense as many people travel from other parts of the country to attend the FUN Show and it would be convenient for them to extend their visit to include the conference. We would like to arrange some sort of a reception on Monday, January 8 if funds are available for that. As everyone knows, we are a 501 c (3) non-profit. We depend on contributions from our supporters to finance our events. Most of the money that pays for our programs comes from ticket sales, advertising, and a few cash donations. This year, however, we are going to be offering sponsorships that will be the central focus of our fundraising efforts. It is our intention to make each succeeding conference better than the previous. To do that we will need support from our members and the business community along the Treasure Coast whose businesses are benefitted from events like this.
We are just getting started with the upcoming program’s agenda. We have reached out to a few individuals that we would like to include as speakers but nothing has been finalized. Information about our program will be announced as soon as everything is confirmed. We hope to have our speakers lined up by August and an agenda available for distribution so that those considering attending the conference can decide if they want to attend.
We are very excited about hosting this conference and it is our sincere hope that it will meet the expectations of all those that attend.
