Greetings Fleet Society members,
Today was Day 1 of the ANA World’s Fair of Money here in Chicago.
I had a very busy time walking among the hundreds of dealers, meeting and greeting old friends. Speaking of old friends, I met several Fleet Society members. Among them were Dan Sedwick, Winter Park FL (member #2); Augi Garcia, Winter Park, FL (member #3); John Pullin, Santa Fe, NM (member #6); Mike Dunigan, Fort Worth, TX (member #50); Don Kagin, Tiburon, CA, (member #95); David Huang, New York, NY (member #198); and Russell Augustine, Willowbrook, IL (member #200).
I had dinner with ANA President, Tom Uram, Eighty Four, PA (member #23), and Ray O’Shinski Cannonsburg, PA (member #104).
Overall it was an exciting first day. I will be up early tomorrow to head to the convention and perhaps see some additional members. It’s always nice catching up with my old friends. It should be noted that the Fleet Society is an organization that many of the dealers I know recognize. In other words, we have a favorable reputation which helps gain new members.
One final note, I mentioned meeting David Huang of New York. David is one of our youngest members and has been recommended to join our Advisory Board as our Membership Representative. More about David later.
