Recently, Chet Hogan, President of the Treasure Coast Coin Club, contacted us to advise that the Club has agreed to work with the 1715 Fleet Society to sponsor events at the 300th Anniversary Commemoration which is scheduled to occur from July 26, 2015 to August 2, 2015. On Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, the Club will sponsor a “Meet & Greet” at the Indian River State College Main Campus, Ft. Pierce, Florida. The “Meet & Greet” will feature famous Fleet related personalities who will be available to interact with those in attendance.
Also, the Club will be providing refreshments at the special guided tour of the McLarty Treasure Museum, Sebastian, Florida on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 4:30 pm. The Club has very graciously offered to provide space for a display of 1715 Fleet related items at their Annual Coin and Currency Show, Saturday, January 24 and Sunday, January 25, 2015. The Show will be located at the Vero Beach Community Center located on 14th Avenue at 23rd Street in Vero Beach. It is anticipated that the 1715 Fleet Society will collaborate with some of its supporters to develop a compelling display.
The Treasure Coast Coin Club has been devoting much time and energy to promoting awareness of the upcoming 300th Anniversary of the loss of the 1715 Fleet. We appreciate all of their help and support in this regard.
