Visitors to our website are aware of our “Treasure of the Month” which is located on our calendar page. Inasmuch as October is the month of mystery (Halloween) we decided to feature a mystery item as this months treasure. You can view this mystery object by clicking here.
In keeping with our mystery theme we have another puzzle for our visitors to solve. The picture below was found in the personal papers of a prominent 1715 Fleet personality. This individual, one of the original Real Eight members, was instrumental in the discovery of thousands of Fleet coins and hundreds of artifacts. The picture looks innocent enough – four gold coins, all eight escudos, all presumably form the 1715 Fleet. But, on closer observation, one finds a coin that shouldn’t be there.
