Many of our Fleet Society members are also members of the American Numismatic association (ANA). In the next few months, an ANA election will be held to elect a Board of Governors, a Vice President and President. Those elected will be installed at the ANA’s 128th Anniversary Convention in Chicago on August 16, 2019. I am requesting that those eligible to vote consider Don Kagin for ANA President.
I had the opportunity to hear Mr. Kagin give a brief presentation to those in attendance at the banquet hosted by the Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists at the ANA National Money Show here in Pittsburgh just last week. He was asked to set forth his goals should he be elected. I was very impressed with what he plans to accomplish if he is fortunate enough to be selected as the next ANA President. I also had a chance to spend some time with him and he was very interested in what we were doing as organization and our plans for the future. His agenda includes many new programs and educational opportunities which are very compatible with our long term objectives, especially in the area of education and networking.. I believe that the Fleet Society would benefit from his leadership and therefore I am urging our members to vote for Don Kagin for President of the ANA.
