These images depict artifacts, coins and other treasures found by the Real 8 Company in the 1960’s. Regrettably, the photographic quality is somewhat poor. However, this is often the case when dealing with archival material.
Sadly, Lou passed away in 2010. However, a few years prior to his death he gave these photographs to Frank Noga of Eastlake, Ohio, a frequent contributor to this website. Each photograph has a handwritten note on the back personally signed by Lou UllianLouis J. (Lou) Ullian (1932 – 2010) Was a diver and original member of the Real Eight Company. I remember Mr Long in the 60s and he was a fine gentleman. I worked around him and it was exciting to hear some of the dive stories.
Was the “Cabin Wreck” off where McLarty Museum now stands in 2018?
Did some cannons come from the 1715 Cabin Wreck? My husband, Joe Michael bought them through Dr. Kip G. Kelson c. 1967. THINK? they were from the Almiranta and just want to verify that.

Any idea value of 2 cannons from Almiranta from Cabin Wreck of 1715 Plate Fleet off Orchid Island between Sebastian Inlet and Wabasso Beach.
My husband, Joe W. Michael bought them in the 1960’s, perhaps c. 1965, soaked them in crank case oil from then to 1987 when we had the Michael Centennial here on Earring Point.
Just my curiousity. Joe died in 1987 but I a sure he’d remember the cost, but I don’t think he ever told me what it was.
Dr. Kip Gordon Kelso was a distant cousin of mine. FYI.

Kip told me the cannons were from the Almiranta with the 1715 Plate Fleet near the Cabin Wreck. The cabin was owned by our good friends,Marie and Dr. Bo Guerin.

My great grandmother lived next door to Kip Wagner and Dr. Kelso lived directly across the street. Rex Stocker lived down the street. My grandfather was friends with the whole crew. My mother had many cool stories about their treasure hunting days .
