This Day in Fleet History – June 26, 1967

On this day, 55 years ago, a team of Real Eight Company divers working at the Cabin Wreck site near Sebastian, Florida find a nearly intact treasure chest containing silver coins. This is the second such chest found. Previously, a similar chest was found at the same site in July, 1965.

  1. Ben,I’m having difficulty trying to get in touch with the group. I’ve got a couple of rarer items that would be potentially able to be brought with me on my upcoming Florida trip. If there is any interest, please let me know who or how to best communicate with. I did also send a similar message from the main site.
