In keeping with the Christmas tradition, our Treasure of the Month for December is something that you would like to find in your stocking or under the tree. This rare Olive Blossom gold chain was found in July 2024 by the crew of the MV Gold Blooded-C49. A total of 14 inches of chain was found in various sized links. (See Below)
Gold chains have been found on the wreck sites of the 1715 Fleet since recovery efforts began in the 1960’s. The chains can vary in length from inches to over 10 feet. For instance, the chain associated with the famous Dragon Whistle found in 1962 was over 11 feet (See our Treasure of the Month for July 2013). Also, the chain links can be diverse, some intricate (See our Treasure of the Month for December 2014 and February 2020) and others less so (See our Treasure of the Month for April 2016).
